I worked with Green Roots, a UK wine brand committed to sustainability, to take a new product range from concept to launch. Planet Mark certified in 2021, with a pledge to reach net zero by 2030. The work cut 16.7 tonnes of CO2e a year and gave the business a fresh start.

Idea
Green Roots came to me with a clear mission — wine that takes its environmental impact as seriously as its taste — and a range that needed to look the part. Planet Mark certification was already in hand and net zero by 2030 was on the record. The brief was to build a brand that made those values feel genuine rather than performative, and to do it from concept through to launch.
The trap in this category is that eco-conscious ends up either worthy or beige. We went the other way: an approachable, refined direction that led with a love of good wine and let the sustainability story sit confidently alongside it. Every decision, from format to finish, had to earn its place — minimal packaging that reduced impact without looking like a compromise.
Making
Brand identity, copy, packaging and the visual direction that carried the environmental goals across every touchpoint, plus the exhibition stand that took it to trade. The lighter, minimal packaging contributed to a 16.7 tonne annual CO2e reduction and set a new benchmark for the wine industry — sustainability and refinement in the same hand.

“We had a great experience working with Sarah on our wine brand. Sarah's understanding as we worked through the early design process was particularly valued and we were delighted with the end result.”
