The Trustees’ Dinner is one of the British Museum’s most significant evenings of the year. The acquisition of the Tudor Heart became the starting point for an invitation and accompanying brochure. Its story of love, power and discovery provided a rich foundation for an evening celebrating the Museum and the extraordinary objects in its care.

Idea

Discovered by a metal detectorist in Warwickshire, the Tudor Heart offers a glimpse into the world of Henry VIII's early court, with its symbols of love and chivalry. That sense of discovery became central to the design.

Making

This is the night the Museum thanks the people who make its work possible, so the invitation and accompanying booklet had to feel like a genuine thank you, something to hold, open and keep. One curator called it their all-time favourite the Museum has sent and asked to keep a copy for the British Museum's own archive.
